Jose Carlos Clemente Litran BSc, MSc, PhD

Jose is a computational biologist. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and the Immunology Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Seville (Spain), and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Japan). He did his postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Genetics (Japan) and at the University of Colorado. His lab develops computational and experimental methods to understand the microbiome and its relation to immune and metabolic disorders. He is a rabid Emacs user.
