José Calbet

José Antonio López Calbet is a Full Professor in Exercise Physiology at the Department of Physical Education of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). He is a Physician and has a Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. He is a Doctor in Education Sciences and Philosophy.

Dr. López Calbet is the author of more than 180 articles JCR (more than 100 in Q1), with an h-index of 54 (SCI-WOK). Moreover, he is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European College of Sports Sciences and of the editorial board of SJMSS, PLoS ONE, EJSS; Journal of Physical Activity and Health, Appl Nutr Metab, Int J Sports Med, and High Altit Med & Biology.

His research focuses on Physical activity and health, Sports performance, Muscle signaling, Ergogenic aids (in collaboration with the industry), Capture, processing, integration, and interpretation of human biological signals (in collaboration with the industry).
