Dr Jose Biller is Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Chairperson of Neurology at Loyola University Health System, based in Maywood, Ill. Biller's professional affiliations include serving as Director of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology from 1994 to 2001. In addition, he is the Chief Editor and the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, and editorial board member and reviewer for an array of other national and international journals and publication including UpToDate.

Dr Biller earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the University of Republic in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he also completed his internship and post-graduate training in internal medicine at the Maciel Hospital and Public Welfare Health Ministry. He then completed a second internship in internal medicine at Columbus Hospital in Chicago, and moved on to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and back to Loyola University to complete his residency in neurology. Subsequently, he finished his cerebrovascular research fellowship at Wake Forest University's Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Dr Biller is certified (and recertified) in Neurology (ABPN), Vascular Neurology (ABPN), and Headache Medicine (UCNS).
