Jose Antonio Oteo MD, PhD

JOSÉ ANTONIO OTEO was Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra and Specialist in Internal Medicine (MIR). He has been Head of the Internal Medicine Service of the Hospital of La Rioja and of the San Millán-San Pedro Hospital Complex in La Rioja.

He is currently Head of the Clinical Management Area of ​​Infectious Diseases, which includes the Infectious Diseases Service and the Preventive Medicine and Sterilization sections of the new San Pedro Hospital in La Rioja. He also directs the Laboratory of Special Pathogens (Center of Rickettsiosis and Diseases Transmitted by Arthropod Vectors) of the Biomedical Research Center of La Rioja (CIBIR) and the HIV Research Unit of the same Center. It has more than 300 scientific publications and has participated as a member of numerous Scientific and Expert Committees in National and International Scientific Journals and Evaluation Agencies (ANEP, Portuguese Evaluation Agency). He has also received numerous scientific and social awards.
