Dr. Jorge L. Eller has recently joined Thomas Jefferson University as Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, specializing in Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery.

Dr. Eller received his MD from the Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo Medical School in his native Brazil in 1995. In 1996 he accepted an internship in General Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, followed by a residency in Neurological Surgery in the same institution, graduating in 2004. He then pursued a fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR.

Dr. Eller then served as an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University and Chief of Neurosurgery at the Portland VA Medical Center until joining the faculty at Saint Louis University in 2010, where he completed a fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Surgery. In 2011 he moved to the State University of New York at Buffalo to attend a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery, graduating in June 2013. Dr. Eller has been Board Certified in Neurological Surgery since 2008.

During his residency, Dr. Eller pursued research in the treatment of malignant brain tumors using monoclonal antibodies against the tumor tissue. His research and clinical activities have since then included innovative surgical approaches and minimally invasive endovascular techniques to treat a broad spectrum of neurosurgical diseases. Throughout his career, Dr. Eller has published and lectured on surgery for brain tumors, movement disorders, trigeminal neuralgia, skull base approaches, and surgical and endovascular management of the cerebrovascular disease.
