Jorge L. Alio Y Sanz MD, PhD

Dr. Jorge L. Alio is the founder and medical director of the Instituto Oftalmologico de Alicante, Spain (now VISSUM Corp.), and founder of the Fundacion Jorrege Alio for the Prevention of Blindness. Dr. Alió is globally recognized as a leading authority in the field of refractive surgery, and has authored or edited a total of 61 books. He has written 200 chapters and over 500 articles in peer review journals, and has collaborated on over 200 scientific articles in various media. In addition to his scholarly writings, Dr. Alió holds 36 patents and original designs.
