Jordi Heijman PhD

Jordi Heijman studied "Knowledge Engineering" in Maastricht. His doctoral research was a collaboration between the departments of Cardiology and Knowledge Engineering and resulted in a cum laude promotion in 2012 on the thesis "Computational analysis of beta-adrenergic stimulation and its effects on cardiac ventricular electrophysiology." During his PhD he also worked for 1.5 years. at the renowned "Cardiac Bioelectricity and Arrhythmia Center" at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, USA. After his PhD, Jordi Heijman was a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical Faculty Mannheim, Heidelberg University, and the Institute of Pharmacology, University Duisburg-Essen. In April 2015, he returned to Maastricht and has since worked as a staff member and researcher within the Cardiology department.
