Joost Daemen MD, PhD

Dr. Joost Daemen, MD, PhD obtained his degree in medicine at the Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam in 2005 and did 2 years of internal medicine training and 4 years of general cardiology training at the Thoraxcenter, Rotterdam. Dr. Daemen is expecting to finish his interventional cardiology training, for which he spent several months at the Insel University Medical Center Bern Switzerland, in early 2015.

In 2008, he obtained his PhD degree with cum laude as a result of dedicated research in the field of interventional cardiology with specific interest in long-term follow-up, safety and efficacy of drug-eluting stents and stent thrombosis, resulting in co-authorship in over 75 peer reviewed publications.
