Dr. Jonathan Stokes, MSc, PhD, is currently a Research Fellow conducting an MRC Skills Development Fellowship in Health Economics, 'Health economic skills for advancing health policy: capturing effects of prevention and intervention beyond traditional health services. His PhD was titled 'Multimorbidity and integrated care, conducted in the Centre for Primary Care at the University of Manchester. He used systematic review and econometric quasi-experimental methods to evaluate the effectiveness of integrated care models, and differential effects for multimorbid subgroups. Thereafter he worked as a Research Associate and then a Research Fellow in Health Economics on the Horizon2020 SELFIE (Sustainable intEgrated care modeLs for multimorbidity delivery, FinancIng, and performance) project. His research interests focus on international comparison, evaluation, and recommendations for (complex adaptive) health systems, particularly new models of primary and integrated care. He also focuses on complex patient groups, particularly multimorbidity. Jonathan has experience in mixed methods research and is mostly interested in the policy implications of health services and health economics research.
