Jonathan (Jon) M. Hagedorn, M.D., is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He completed medical school at Chicago Medical School in 2012 before starting residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Following the completion of three years of surgical training, he transitioned to Anesthesiology and completed an Anesthesiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 2018. Dr. Hagedorn then completed his medical training at Mayo Clinic in 2019 as a Pain Medicine fellow. He stayed on as a faculty member within the Division of Pain Medicine following the completion of his fellowship.
Dr. Hagedorn's approach to pain management is to create a multimodal treatment plan for the symptoms and pathology of each individual patient. He has a particular interest in interventional pain management strategies with a keen focus on neuromodulation, including spinal cord stimulation (SCS), dorsal root ganglion stimulation (DRG), and intrathecal drug delivery (IDDS, "pain pump"). He is on multiple national committees dedicated to the use of neuromodulation and serves as the Director of Neuromodulation for Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
Dr. Hagedorn also enjoys clinical research and education. His research focuses on the safe use of neuromodulation and expanding clinical indications. He also works closely with the residents and fellows within the Division of Pain Medicine and utilizes a team approach to patient care.
