Jonathan Hardman trained in Nottingham and is Professor in the Anaesthesia and Critical Care Research Group at the University of Nottingham and Honorary Consultant Anaesthetist at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has clinical interests in major abdominal surgery, perioperative outcome, complications (and their prevention) and regional anaesthesia. He has had various responsibilities over the years, including directing research at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, running the Anaesthetic Research Society and editing the British Journal of Anaesthesia. His research interests centre on computational modelling of critical illness and crisis scenarios, and his current research work is funded by the MRC and EPSRC.
