Jonathan Sonis, MD, MHCM, is an Attending Emergency Physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, Massachusetts, where he currently serves as Associate Director of Quality and Safety and Co-Director of Patient Experience for the Emergency Department.
Dr. Sonis is involved in the daily operations of the MGH’s approximately 120,000 annual visit emergency department (ED) and has worked on a variety of practical and academic initiatives related to improving patient experience, quality of care, provider and staff communication, and throughput.
Dr. Sonis has given multiple local and national lectures on ED patient experience and his scholarly work includes numerous publications. He received his MD with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from the Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency where he served as a Chief Resident. He has participated in educational programs in ED leadership, quality service, and value-based health care, and completed his Master in Health Care Management at the Harvard School of Public Health in 2019.
