Professor Jonathan Cooke has spent over 35 years in the NHS including the position of Director of Research and Development and Director of Medicines Management at the University Hospital of South Manchester. He is an Honorary Professor, at Manchester Pharmacy School, University of Manchester, and a Visiting Professor, at the Department of Medicine, Imperial College London.
Jonathan has a specialist interest in antimicrobial resistance and was a member of the UK Department of Health’s Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI), Chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and Advisor to WHO. Member of the DH Clostridium difficile Guidelines Working Party. He is a Trustee and Director of the Fungal Infection Trust, and a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Patient Safety. He is the author of over 150 publications, reviews, and chapters of textbooks. He has presented over 200 international and national keynote presentations and lectures at major conferences and has received numerous national and international awards.
