Dr. Jonathan Boyle, qualified from the University of Leicester in 1991. He trained in Leicester, Southampton and Portsmouth and was involved in the early development of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) within the UK, work that led to his MD thesis. He undertook a year of endovascular training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital prior to his appointment as Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge in 2002. He has active research interests in EVAR, outcome modelling and renal injury in vascular surgery, publishing extensively on these subjects. He has established an endovascular service for ruptured aneurysms in Cambridge and runs successful courses on EVAR for both elective and ruptured AAAs. He was appointed to the Council of the British Society of Endovascular Therapy (BSET) in 2009. He has embraced minimally invasive varicose vein techniques and has extensive experience of endovenous radiofrequency and laser ablation. Furthermore he is enthusiastic about training and is currently Programme Director for Core Surgical Training in the East of England, an MRCS examiner and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Cambridge.
