Dr. John Yousif has been synonymous with providing superior outcomes in surgical and non-surgical aesthetics. Dr. John Yousif has been in practice in the Milwaukee area since 1986. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds additional certifications in hand surgery.

Dr. Yousif attended medical school at the University of Brussels in Belgium. He completed his internship at Moncton City Hospital in New Brunswick Canada and his general surgery residency at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington Delaware. Dr. Yousif completed his formal training with a Plastic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin along with a hand and microsurgery fellowship. Upon completing his fellowship, he was invited to join the teaching staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Yousif entered private practice in 1997, though he remains active in the teaching of Plastic Surgery as a Clinical Professor at the Medical College. He has published and presented numerous scientific articles related to plastic surgery in the United States and abroad. In addition, Dr. Yousif has received numerous awards and honors for his research and has pioneered many new techniques in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. John Yousif was the first surgeon in the world to describe and use the medial thigh gracilis flap for breast reconstruction, also known as the TUG Flap, for which he was awarded The Plastic Surgery Society’s National Award for “Best Research Paper” of the year. He was also the first in Wisconsin to perform a microvascular-free TRAM for breast reconstruction.

Dr. Yousif is credited with being the first in the world to describe the association of mid-face descent with gravity and the nasolabial fold, which was published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as “The Nasolabial Fold: A Photogrammetric Analysis.” This was awarded the Aesthetic Association's “Best Paper” of that year. Additionally, he was the first to introduce the GoreTex Mid-facelift which he has performed for over 25 years. He has been mentioned in Allure Magazine as one of the world's experts on facial aging and in a book written by Allure’s cosmetic surgery editor on facelifts. He has won the Society of Plastic Surgery’s National Award for “Best Research Paper” twice. His work on facial anatomy and facial surgery has been published in the book “Lift, wanting, fearing and having a facelift” written by Joan Kron the medical editor for Allure Magazine.
