John Wise

John Wise MA is the Executive Director of the Pistoia Alliance, a not-for-profit organisation committed to lowering the barriers to innovation in pharma R&D, and is also the Programme Coordinator for the PRISME Forum, a not-for-profit pharma R&D IT/Informatics leadership group focused on the identification of “hot topics” and the sharing of industry best practices.

Previously, John has held Informatics leadership roles in a variety of organizations including the University of London, Sandoz, ICRF, Roche, Ipsen and Daiichi Sankyo. John has also worked in the technology vendor domain of the industry. These roles have allowed John to gain direct hands-on experience of delivering computer-based services to the discovery, non-clinical development, clinical development and regulatory affairs domains of the pharmaceutical industry.

John has frequently presented at conferences and has written articles for various journals. He is committed to encouraging Pharma to get out of the IT business and instead use expert, third-party, cost-effective, regulatory-compliant, hosted information services.

John graduated in physiology from the University of Oxford and received a post-graduate certificate in education from the University of London.
