Dr. John Downes (Life University, 1986) is currently the longest-serving member of the FICS ExCo and is Second Vice-President. Formerly he represented the US Sports Chiropractic Federation on the ExCo, presently he is a member at large.
For the past ten years, he has been Director of International Programs at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where his faculty positions since 1991 have included Head, Technique Department and Director of Sports Chiropractic. He continues to teach in the Sports Health Science Master’s program.
John has over 35 years of sports chiropractic practice experience. Since 1996 he has served the Costa Rican Olympic Team at the national, Central American Games and Olympic levels. He is in demand internationally as a lecturer and technique instructor. He is a board member of the Council on Extremity Adjusting and a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapy.
