John Townend MD

Dr Townend is an interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Clinical Service Lead for Cardiology and Honorary Reader in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Birmingham. He undertakes coronary angioplasty procedures and participates in the primary angioplasty service. He also runs cardiology outpatient clinics and takes part in the assessment service for the heart transplant programme.

He is a lead investigator for a variety of clinical studies and co-directs the Birmingham Cardio-Renal Group at the University of Birmingham.
