John Replogle, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where his work focuses on lysosomal biology, neurodegeneration, and genetic modifiers of ALS/FTD. He has developed novel human neuronal models of TMEM106B fibril formation and demonstrated how TMEM106B genotype influences lysosomal health and phospho-TDP-43 pathology, providing insights into upstream mechanisms of neurodegeneration. Before his current role, John earned his PhD at MIT in 2021, where he investigated the impact of aneuploidy on cancer tumorigenesis and treatment resistance, advancing understanding of cell cycle effects on therapeutic outcomes. At the NIH, he continues to integrate experimental systems with translational aims to uncover actionable disease biology and support the discovery of new therapeutic strategies for ALS and related disorders.
