Dr. Co is the Director of Graduate Medical Education at Mass General Brigham, Designated Institutional Official at Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals (MGH), Medical Director for Equity at MGH, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.

He received his BA in biology and economics from Cornell University, his MD from the Stanford University School of Medicine, and his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. Following a pediatric residency at Stanford, he completed fellowships in general pediatric academic development from Johns Hopkins and in pediatric health services research from Harvard, during which he developed his academic interests in medical education quality, patient safety, and clinical informatics. Dr. Co has served in several local, regional, and national roles related to graduate medical education, including as Chair of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Research Task Force, and as Co-Chair of the ACGME’s CLER Evaluation Committee, helping lead the development and assessment of the Clinical Learning Environment Review Program, several CLER National Reports of Findings, and the CLER Pathways to Excellence 2.0.

A board-certified general pediatrician, Dr. Co served for over a decade as the Director of Pediatric Ambulatory Quality and Safety before becoming Medical Director for Equity at MGH, focusing on assuring equity in access to and delivery of care. He was a member of the American Board of Pediatrics Foundation Board of Directors and the Expert Advisory Panel for the Children’s Hospital GME Quality Bonus System. He has served in editorial roles with several journals, including Ambulatory Pediatrics, Pediatrics (Quality Reports), and currently with JAMA Pediatrics (Clinical Review and Education).
