John P. Bois, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist with dual appointments in the Departments of Cardiovascular Medicine and Radiology. He has subspecialty certification in echocardiography, as well as internal medicine board certification and nuclear cardiology board certification. Dr. Bois is the Co-Director of the Chest Pain and Coronary Physiology Clinic and the Nasseff Tower 5 Medical Director at the Mayo Clinic.
Originally from Colorado, he graduated with honors from Dartmouth College, where he was a member of the Division I tennis team and a collegiate academic All-American. He subsequently graduated from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, the Mayo Internal Medicine Residency, and the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Fellowship, with additional completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at the Mayo Clinic.
He was then appointed a Mayo Clinic Scholar and performed collaborative research between the Mayo Clinic and the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at the Washington University School of Medicine. He has been awarded Intern of the Year, Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident Award, Edward C. Rosenow Medical Teaching Award, Angela and Anne Marinelli Clinical Practice Award, Internal Medicine Resident Teacher of the Year Award, and the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award. He also serves as an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency and is a member of the Mayo Clinic History of Medicine Society.
