John Manzo, PharmD, FASHP received his BS in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science followed by a Pharmacy Practice Residency. After obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from SUNY at Buffalo, Dr. Manzo held positions as a clinical pharmacy practitioner and manager and a corporate pharmacy director with a focus on implementing electronic medication management systems and associated process redesign and clinical transformation. This led to a product strategy/management and clinical consultant role with a major electronic medical record vendor and then as a managing consultant for strategy and change for IBM Global Business Services, where he assisted healthcare organizations to plan, implementing, supporting, and monitoring safe and efficient electronic medication management systems and health records and associated processes through clinical information technology-driven process redesign and clinical transformation, culture/change management, and a focus on the clinician/health information technology interface. Dr. Manzo joined NYU Langone Health as Director for Clinical Applications/Pharmacy and Oncology in the Information Technology Department of the NYU Langone Health in New York City, where he collaborated with diverse teams working on NYU's various medication and oncology-related technology initiatives and workflows through pharmacy and oncology IT teams. Promoted to Senior Director within NYU Langone Health, Dr. Manzo's responsibility expanded to motivating, coaching, supervising, and administratively overseeing the work of eleven clinical EMR and ancillary application teams requiring a high-level understanding of the EMR, and clinical workflows and ancillary technology integration needed to generate organizational success. As a member of the senior leadership team, he contributed to defining, driving, and executing strategic direction and guidance on clinical implementation of product and application functionality for numerous complex, large scale, long term projects and initiatives that supported the organization’s world-class clinical and business missions. At Sema4, Dr. Manzo is responsible for multiple health system relationships and crafting patient-centered, integrated solutions for health systems through data-driven insights to transform healthcare by using artificial intelligence to enable the delivery of precision medicine as the standard of care. Dr. Manzo has authored over 20 professional publications and participated in over 70 local, national, and international professional presentations.
