John Hurst BSc, MB.ChB, MRCP, PhD, FRCP, FHEA

John Hurst is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at University College London. He has a clinical and research interest in exacerbations of COPD. He qualified from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1997 and has worked at UCL since 2007. His clinical work is based at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, and in the Barnet and Camden community respiratory services. He is COPD audit lead for the Royal College of Physicians National Asthma and COPD Audit Programme. He has national and international roles with the American and British Thoracic, and European Respiratory Societies, and from January 2019 will become Editor in Chief of the European Respiratory Monograph.
