Dr. John Pattison Hodgkinson, BSc, MBChB, FRCS is on the Specialist Register as an Orthopaedic Consultant, and his clinical practice is surgery of the lower limbs. Initially appointed as a consultant at North Manchester General Hospital in 1987, he moved to Wrightington Hospital in 2001. In addition, John is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester. Since moving to Wrightington, John has specialized in hip and knee arthroplasty surgery (operation for construction of a new movable joint). This interest commenced during his time as an orthopedic trainee when John worked as the first Charnley arthroplasty fellow working with Professor Mike Wroblewski at Wrightington Hospital. 

John Pattison Hodgkinson has been involved in treating elite sportsmen and women since 1993 and his patients have included international footballers and cricketers. This interest continues and he is currently collaborating with colleagues and Trust management to develop a state-of-the-art sports injury diagnostic and treatment center at the Wrightington.
