John Henry Trescher Waldhausen MD, FACS

John H.T. Waldhausen, MD, FACS, is a board-certified pediatric surgeon and the Chief of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital. Dr. Waldhausen has extensive clinical expertise in neonatal surgery, oncologic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and thoracic surgery. His interest in medicine and surgery originated with his father who was a pediatric heart surgeon.

Dr. Waldhausen's goal is to help parents understand the surgical health issues that may confront their children and to guide them through the various treatment choices that can be made. Dr. Waldhausen is the President-Elect of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and has served on the Pediatric Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery. His research interests focus on standardization of clinical care, patient safety, and clinical outcomes of pediatric surgical operations.
