Dr. J. Christopher Glantz is a professor of OBGYN and Public Health Sciences at the University of Rochester (UR) School of Medicine. His education includes a BA in biology from the University of California at San Diego, an MD from the University of California at Los Angeles, and an OBGYN residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After six years as a general OBGYN in Boston, Dr. Glantz moved to Rochester in 1990 for UR’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) fellowship and a Master’s in Public Health. He is double-boarded in OBGYN and MFM, a fellow of the American College of OBGYN (ACOG), and his current clinical practice focuses on OBGYN ultrasound and MFM consults. Ongoing academic activities include medical education (MFM fellows & sonographers, and as associate editor of the department’s online medical education program, Peri-FACTS), perinatal epidemiology (Director of the Finger Lakes Perinatal Data System), perinatal quality assurance (member of New York State Perinatal Quality Collaborative and the Safe Motherhood Initiative, and co-director of the NYS Maternal Mortality Review Board), and work with ACOG to improve women’s health as chair of Section 10, ACOG District II.
