John Frodel, MD is board-certified with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington, School of Medicine prior to completing his residency in General Surgery at Harvard Surgical Service in Boston and his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. In addition, he completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Frodel has been a full-time academic faculty member at the University of Iowa School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He is currently the cosmetic medical director in the Geisinger Healthcare System. Dr. Frodel offers a less invasive facelift that not only re-drapes the facial skin, but also changes the underlying muscle structure for a more permanent result. Dr. Frodel is also a known expert in rhinoplasty, facial cosmetic surgery and complex facial reconstructive surgery. His special interests include minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery, rhinoplasty, and aging facial rejuvenation surgery, as well as facial implant surgery. Dr. Frodel has been a visiting professor and lecturer throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. He currently serves in an executive leadership position with the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
