John Fann PhD

John Fann is currently holding the position as Director of Bioprocess Development at Bristol Myers Squibb. John joined BMS in 2014, and has been in the leadership role for both microbial and mammalian process development and process scale-up. His group is consisted of upstream, downstream and analytical functions. John also leads the global BMS mammalian platform alignment and co-chairs BMS Process Development Network. Prior to BMS, John worked for Abbott/Abbvie in Worcester, MA. He was Senior Group Leader then Associate Director in Process Sciences and Manufacturing Sciences, supervising cell line development, early- and late-stage process development, technology transfer, and manufacturing supports for over 36 internal and contract-manufacturing projects, including Humira® commercial manufacturing at various scales. With over 20 years of bioprocess development experience, John has been involved in FIH/Commercial PD, IND filings, process characterizations, PPQ campaigns, BLA filings and PAI activities for over 40 projects, including commercial biologics like Humira®, Adcetris®, and Recothrom®.
