Dr. John Polousky is a nationally recognized expert in pediatric and young adult sports medicine, as well as, limb lengthening/reconstruction. He lectures around the country on sports injuries, osteochondritis dissecans and fractures in children and young adults. His rare skill set gives him a unique understanding relationship between bone deformity, ligament and cartilage dysfunction. Dr. Polousky completed medical school at The University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine before completing residency in orthopedic surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is one of a very few doctors in the world who has completed fellowship training on pediatric orthopedics and further post-residency training in sports medicine and complex limb reconstruction and lengthening.
Dr. Polousky believes that offering today’s most advanced orthopedic care is not enough. We must constantly find ways to improve our patients’ results, turning today’s treatment into tomorrow’s cure. For this reason, we carefully analyze our surgical results through research at our center and centers throughout the country. Our center is one of The Centers of Excellence of the R.O.C.K. [Research on OsteoChondritis Dissecans of the Knee] Research Group. The R.O.C.K. Group is a consortium of the thought leaders in osteochondritis dissecans and cartilage disorders in young people.
