John Cramer, M.D., is the Residency Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

His practice focuses on all aspects of head and neck surgical oncology including thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland disease, head and neck cutaneous malignancies, sinonasal tumors, skull base surgery, and malignancies of head and neck mucosal surfaces. His specialty interests include minimally invasive head and neck surgery with transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and sentinel lymph node biopsy for head and neck malignancies.

Dr. Cramer graduated with Honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology, and a Medical Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a surgical internship and an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois. He completed additional fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Cramer's research focuses on the intersection of otolaryngology and health policy. He has over sixty-eight publications. These include first-author publications in leading journals including Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, JAMA, and The New England Journal of Medicine. Others have been selected for podium presentations at the American Society of Clinical Oncology and won awards from the Triological Society and the American Head and Neck Society.

Dr. Cramer is licensed in the State of Michigan and board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck surgery.
