John D. Coates PhD

John D. Coates is a Professor of Microbiology at the University of California, Berkeley, and Geological Scientist Faculty at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology at the University College Galway, Ireland, and Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at the Dublin City University. His Clinical Interests are Alternative Energy Production, Biogeochemistry, Microbiology, Bioremediation, Radioactive Toxic Metals, and Carcinogenic Petroleum-Based Hydrocarbon Contaminants.
