Dr John Campbell is Associate Director – Research, Development & Innovation at the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). John has a PhD in Pathology from the University of Edinburgh and has over twenty years’ research experience in cell-based therapies. He has worked in both the academic sector as Lecturer in Transfusion Medicine at Glasgow University and in the cell therapy biotech sector in various senior positions at Miltenyi Biotec in Germany and the UK.
John took up his current position at SNBTS at the beginning of 2013. SNBTS is the specialist provider of transfusion medicine in Scotland, supplying high quality blood, tissues and cells. SNBTS jointly operates (along with Roslin cells) the Cellular Therapy Facility at the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine in Edinburgh, one of the largest fully MHRA-licensed regenerative and cellular therapy centres in the UK.
