John C. Laschinger MD

Dr. Laschinger is currently working as a Senior VP of Medical Affairs for Advanced Technologies, Edwards Lifesciences. He received his medical education at The Ohio State University. He has completed a residency in General Surgery at New York University, fellowships in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Washington University, and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Prior to entering into the private practice of Cardiac Surgery, he served as an Assistant Professor in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Maryland and as an Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University. He is UNOS certified for both heart and lung transplant surgery and founded the Heart and Lung Transplant programs at The University of Maryland as well as the Broccoli Center for Aortic Surgery at Johns Hopkins. He is a medical officer in the Structural Heart Devices Branch in the Division of Cardiovascular Devices at the FDA.
