John Boulton is a retired academic paediatrician who lives in Newcastle NSW. Following his retirement from the University of Newcastle in June 2005, He worked in clinical paediatrics until the beginning of this year in the Kimberley region of northwest WA. In parallel he studied Social Anthropology at the University of Sydney, and have contributed to Medical Humanities within the Centre for Values, Ethics and Law in Medicine. His focus is on the achievement of a deeper understanding of the causal pathways to the tragic state of children's health in remote Aboriginal Australia than is provided within the quite superficial current aetiological model of proximate causality.
