John Bilello

Currently President and CSO of Ridge Diagnostics in Durham, NC which markets a diagnostic for major depressive disorder (MDD, unipolar depression). This former Director of Technology Development for Translational Medicine and Genetics at GlaxoSmithKline, brings wide-ranging experience in the design and management of multiple research and development projects in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology sector government laboratories and academia. A former member of the Human Biomarker Center at GSK, he has extensive expertise and experience in the application of biomarkers to both preclinical and clinical development in several therapeutic areas. Member of the Editorial Board of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy for over a decade (1995-2012). I also have been an ad hoc reviewer for a number of professional journals. I have served on NIH Study Sections and Panels (e.g. SBIR/STTR SSS-2 “Proteomics, Protein Expression, and Protein Therapeutics”, HIV-AIDS Clinical Trial Network Review Panel, NIAID, NIH, HIV/AIDS Prevention Trials Network Review Panel, NIAID, NIH.). I was also a panelist, Technology Forecasting & Assessment at Frost and Sullivan’s “Innovations in New Product Development, Management & Technology Strategies” meeting. At Ridge, I am active in interactions with investors, scientists, clinicians, corporate partners, and in the design and management of clinical studies. I am a culturally sensitive and internationally traveled leader, with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
