John R. Adler is the Dorothy & TK Chan Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology (courtesy) at Stanford University. Dr. Adler’s scholarly interests center on translational research, especially the development of new minimally invasive surgical approaches to a wide variety of intra- and extra-cranial diseases. He is best known for his work in stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Adler is widely credited with creating the field of image-guided radiosurgery. His research has been instrumental in the treatment of tumors (& other lesions) involving the head & neck, spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Dr. Adler is an author of more than 180 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and a named inventor on 12 United States patents. John has served or continues to serve as an editor for 7 traditional peer-reviewed medical journals. In 2009, Dr. Adler started the online peer-reviewed medical journal and social network Cureus.com and currently serves as its CEO.
