Johannes Bonatti MD, FETCS

Johannes Bonatti, MD, is Chief of the Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He also worked as a staff surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic main campus in Cleveland Ohio and is Professor of Surgery at the Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Bonatti served as Director of Coronary Surgery & Advanced Coronary Interventions and Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland in the US. As a pioneer in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, in 2012 Dr. Bonatti performed the world’s first robotic endoscopic quadruple coronary bypass surgery and has experience performing more than 4,000 heart surgeries – including 600 robotic procedures. He served as president to the Minimally Invasive Robotics Association (MIRA) from 2011-2012 and is currently board member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) and the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS).
