Dr. Johannes BARTH is a surgeon of the shoulder in a private clinic in Grenoble. His keen interest in science and sport has led Dr. Barth to use the most advanced methods to restore function to traumatized or worn shoulders in addition to treating sports injuries. He led a construction project for a private institution exclusively dedicated to pathologies of the musculoskeletal system from 2010 to 2013: the Center Ostéo-Articulaire des Cèdres (1,500 m 2) opened in October 2013.

He is currently vice-president of the Francophone Arthroscopy Society (after 2 years as scientific secretary) and a member of SOFCOT, SECEC, ESSKA, and ISAKOS. He has published several articles in referenced journals, in addition to a dozen book chapters, and he is a reviewer for AJSM, JSES, OTSR, KSSTA. Since 2012, he has been leading a training and clinical research program in which residents or surgeons from the European Union and around the world participate.

He studied Medicine in Besançon, then his internship and his clinic, in Grenoble, with Prof. Dominique Saragagaglia (with an inter-CHU in Toulouse with Prof. Michel Mansart for a period of 6 months in 2004) and was an instructor in the anatomy laboratory of Pr. Chirossel. He did an extra-university internship with Dr Pierre Chambat and Dr Gilles Walch in Lyon (2001), a research fellowship with Prof. Stephen Burkhart in San Antonio, Texas, United States (2003) and was awarded the ESSKA-APKASS Asia Travel Fellowship (2016).
