Dr. Johan Bosmans is the Deputy Head of Antwerp University Hospital. He studied medicine at the University of Antwerp. After his recognition in cardiology, he specialized in interventional cardiology and also obtained a doctorate in medical sciences in this field.
His clinical expertise is mainly in the non-surgical, percutaneous treatment of valvular heart disease. He performed the first percutaneous aortic valve implantation in Belgium and has received great national and international recognition for this. prof. Bosmans is deputy head of the department of cardiology at UZA and a professor at UAntwerp.
He is the author of nearly 200 international journal articles and an active member of the Belgian Intervention Cardiology Working Group. He is involved in several international courses on percutaneous aortic valve implantation.
His research interests are Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Heart Diseases, Valvular Heart Disease, and Coronary Artery Disease.
