Joerg Fuchs MD

Prof. Dr. Jörg Fuchs, Director of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology University of Tuebingen. He was born on 23rd March 1963. He is married has three children (Katja, Jeremias, and Emanuel) Dr. Fuchs graduated from Humboldt University Berlin (Charité) in 1989. He earned his thesis in 1989 (Berlin). He started his training as a pediatric surgeon at the Medical Faculty of the University Dresden and continued at the Department of Pediatric Surgery in Mannheim and the Medical School Hannover.

In 1998 he was nominated consultant for Pediatric Surgery at the Medical School Hannover, wherein 1999, he completed the habilitation in Pediatric Surgery. Since 2002 he is Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the University Children’s Hospital in Tuebingen/Germany. From 2010-2013 he was elected President of the German Society of Pediatric Surgery. In 2017/2018 he was the President of the German Society of Surgery. Currently, he is the president of the International Pediatric Surgical Oncology Group. As Congress President, he organized the 4 the World Congress of Pediatric Surgery, which was held in Berlin in 2013.
