Joel Pekow MD

Joel Pekow, MD, specializes in the treatment of digestive disorders, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Pekow performs clinical and translational research investigations with the goal of preventing disease progression and improving response to therapy in patients with IBD. A major focus of this research is on providing a better understanding of why cancers develop in IBD patients. He hopes this knowledge will ultimately lead to improved risk assessment of patients with IBD and methods to prevent IBD-associated colon cancer.
