Jochen Greiner MD

Prof. Dr. Med. Jochen Greiner has been the new Chief Physician for Hematology and Oncology at the Medical Clinic of the Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart since the beginning of July. The long-standing director of this department, Prof. Dr. med. med. In the future, Else Heidemann will be in charge of General Internal Medicine and, as Medical Director, will be responsible for the Medical Clinic at the Diakonie-Klinikum as a whole. 

Prof. Greiner is a specialist in internal medicine, hematology, and internistic oncology as well as palliative medicine and comes from the Center for Internal Medicine of the University Hospital Ulm. Here he was the senior physician and section head of oncology at the Department of Internal Medicine III, one of the largest departments of its kind in the German-speaking world. 

Prof. Greiner was at the University of Ulm's last senior physician and section leader for oncology. From the very beginning, he accompanied the development of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU). He led the tumor immunology group and was part of the executive team of the study center of the Department of Internal Medicine III, which carries out costly studies and is one of the largest institutions of its kind in Germany with more than 30 employees. He continues to lead the working group for tumor immunology and immunotherapy as well as his research laboratory in Ulm.
