Joao Gabriel Silva Souza of the Graduate Program in Dentistry (Master's and Doctorate) at Guarulhos University (SP, Brazil). Postdoctoral fellow in the Graduate Program in Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Professor participating in the Graduate Program in Dental Clinic at FOP-Unicamp Graduated in Dentistry from Faculdades Unidas do Norte de Minas (2013), Master in Dentistry with a concentration area in Cardiology (2016) and Doctorate in Dental Clinic (2019) with a concentration area in Dental Prosthesis at the Piracicaba School of Dentistry – UNICAMP. Research internship abroad – sandwich (1 year – 2018-2019) at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

His main field of research is the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment of peri-implant infections, development, and characterization of biomaterials with a focus on technologies for improving implant surfaces with superior physical-chemical properties and antimicrobial effect. In 2020 he received the Capes de Tese award for the best doctoral thesis defended in Dentistry 2019. He received the Arthur Frechette Award and the Pre-prosthetic Regenerative Science Award from the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) in 2020. Travel grant by F Federation of European Microbiological Society, FEMS (2019).
