Joanne earned her MS degree in Nursing from Pace University, New York with postgraduate training at McLean Hospital, and her BA in Sociology from Hiram College, Ohio. Her particular interest in the field of spirituality and contemplative practices has been informed by trainings in Spiritual Psychology, Interfaith Chaplaincy, and Spiritual Direction.
She has been teaching yoga since 1989, with a 500 hour level Kripalu certification. She is also cross trained in numerous somatic modalities, hypnotherapy and as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction instructor.
She is Interested in the development and mentoring of health care professionals she serves as a faculty team member for the Mind Body Spirit Nursing program at the MGH Institute as well as a professional advisor for the Independent Studies Masters Program at Lesley University.
