Joanne Mitchell

Ms. Jo has spent the last 30 years specialising in respiratory nursing, in adult and paediatric intensive care, and in managing acute and chronic respiratory conditions. She is a Respiratory CNC at Caboolture Hospital, promoting evidence-based care and management across the care continuum to improve health outcomes for those diagnosed with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. In her present role of Respiratory CNC in MNHSS, Jo aims to empower patients and their carers to improve their self-management skills by supporting lifestyle modifications, promoting symptom control strategies and early interventions with acute exacerbations. Her passions include care in the immediate post-acute phase following an exacerbation, long term oxygen use at home and access to multidisciplinary services in the community. She has been instrumental in setting up several initiative services throughout her career and strives to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, patient-focused care.
