Joanna Klimiuk, MD, PhD, is a graduate of the Medical Academy of Warsaw, currently the Medical University of Warsaw, which she graduated in 1997. She started her professional career in 1999 at Telekardiomeda. However, due to her interest in lung diseases, since 2000 she has been associated with the Department of Internal Diseases, Pneumonology and Allergology of the Medical University of Warsaw at the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw at ul. Banacha 1 a. In 2006, she obtained a diploma as a specialist in internal diseases, and in 2010, a specialist in pulmonary diseases. In 2013, she defended her doctoral thesis. He is a member of the Polish and European Respiratory Society. He regularly participates in meetings and conferences organized both in Poland and abroad. He systematically expands his knowledge at interventional pulmonology workshops and courses, including lung ultrasound. He skillfully uses the acquired knowledge and extensive professional experience in medical practice.
Her special interest is in patients with respiratory failure who require treatment with non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIV). Since 2010, he has been treating patients under the care of the Home Mechanical Ventilation Center.
In 2020-2021, she was the head of the COVID department at the Medical University of Warsaw Medical University. From the beginning, she showed great commitment to working with patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Based on current knowledge and available global and Polish guidelines, she and her colleagues have developed a number of standards of conduct in the Hospital. Additionally, she trained doctors in the field of medical activities and broadly understood the care of patients with COVID-19.
Doctor Joanna Klimiuk is a doctor full of empathy and optimism, at the same time her professional and individual approach to each patient and commitment inspire unquestionable trust among patients and give a sense of security to younger doctors.
