Jo Inchley PhD

Dr Jo Inchley is Assistant Director of the Child and Adolescent Health Research Unit and Senior Research Fellow in the School of Medicine at the University of St Andrews. Her primary research focus is on child and adolescent health and health promotion. Specific areas of interest include physical activity and sedentary behaviour, mental health and emotional wellbeing, school health, and spirituality. She gained her PhD from the University of Edinburgh for work on the longitudinal determinants of physical activity in early adolescents.

She has been a member of the Scottish HBSC team since 2005 and was recently elected as HBSC. Jo is an experienced researcher and evaluator and has been involved in international work on child and adolescent health.
