Dr. Jill Abrigo is a clinical lecturer of the Department of Imaging & Interventional Radiology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has a background in Cell Biology, received her medical education in The University of the Philippines College of Medicine and underwent training in Diagnostic Radiology in The University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists and has since been working in the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin in Hong Kong as a radiologist, focusing on neuroradiology. Dr. Abrigo works with neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroscientists and engineers in imaging and studying the many varied neurologic disorders in Hong Kong, ranging from strokes to vascular malformations to brain tumours to demyelinating diseases and other neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Abrigo's academic endeavours are towards the clinical translation of novel brain MRI sequences; her current research is on arterial spin labeling MR perfusion and vessel wall imaging. She is also working to incorporate computer-aided detection in routine radiology practice, calling for increased collaborative efforts between radiologists and engineers.
