Dr. Jiahe Li is currently working as an assistant professor at the University of Michigan Biomedical Engineering. Jiahe Li received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Cornell University in 2015, where he used synthetic biology approaches and cell biology to engineer bacteria and platelets as a platform for the treatment of metastatic cancer. From 2015 to 2018, he received postdoctoral training at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, where he gained complementary expertise in polymer science and gene delivery. He began his assistant faculty position in the Department of Bioengineering at Northeastern University in 2019 and currently receives research funding from the NIH, Department of Defense, NSF, and support from multiple biotechnology companies. The research group is focused on the development of molecular and live cell-based therapeutics with an emphasis on using innovative synthetic biology and drug delivery approaches to improve human and animal health in a sustainable manner.
