Jesus Ramirez-Bermudez is a Medical specialist in Neuropsychiatry at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) of Mexico. He works in that Institution as a clinician, researcher, and professor. He is a Doctor of Science from UNAM, where he is a professor of Scientific Methodology in the Masters and Doctorate in Medical Sciences program. He belongs to the National System of Researchers of the National Council for Science and Technology. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in the field of clinical neuroscience, with awards in Australia (International Neuropsychiatric Association, 2006); and the United States (International Conference on Bipolar Disorders, 2011). He is the author of the treatise Principles of Neuropsychiatry (Mexican Psychiatric Association, 2019) the novel Paramnesia(Penguin-Random House, 2006), and the books Brief clinical dictionary of the soul (Penguin-Random House, 2010), A dictionary without words (Almadia, 2016), and Depression: the darkest night (Penguin-Random House, 2020 ) that explore the borders between the clinical narrative and the science essay. In 2009 she won the National Prize for Literary Essay from the Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico.
